Killed in action on February 9, 1945 in the Bannholz Woods near Sinz-Nennig, Germany.

M18 Tank Destroyer Commander in B Company, 704th Tank Destroyer Battalion. He was the son of John and Rose Prusaczyk. married the former Viola M. Stypolkowski (he named his tank destroyer after her “Blondie” as she was a beautiful blonde lady) and together they had one daughter, Frances. John was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service on July 7, 1944 and the Silver Star for gallantry in action on February 8, 1945.

John was laid to rest at the Luxembourg American Military Cemetery (Hamm, Luxembourg). Plot H, Row 3, Grave 61.

During The Bulge, B Company was in Combat Command B of the 4th Armored Division. Performing screening and protection duties. B Company also provided fire support for the 101st Airborne Division once the 4th Armored had broken through.
