Burnon bridge site

When moving north towards Bastogne, the 4th Armored Division’s Combat Command B was halted by a blown bridge near Burnon on December 22, 1944.

Under fire from German “Fallschirmjäger” (paratroops) and a lone assault gun, armored infantry forded the swollen river and engineers started constructing a temporary bridge.
